WHAT IS VEP?

A Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) is an authorization issued by the Road Transport Department of Malaysia under Section 66H of the Road Transport Act 1987. It is mandatory for all foreign-registered vehicles entering Peninsular Malaysia to be registered under the VEP system.
The VEP applies to the following vehicle ownership categories:

Private Vehicles – owned by individuals, companies, or organizations for personal use

Commercial Vehicles – owned by companies and used for business operations
All VEP-registered vehicles will be issued a non-transferable VEP RFID tag, which stores essential information to uniquely identify each vehicle. After successful registration, you will receive an email with instructions on how to collect your VEP RFID tag.
